Description
Spears Racing Lightweight Aluminum Voltage Regulator Relocator – Kawasaki Ninja EX 400/500
Move your voltage regulator from its vulnerable OEM position on the outside of the front fairing stay to a safer, more protected location on the frame. This simple upgrade keeps the regulator out of harm’s way in a left-side crash while maintaining full functionality.
Crafted from lightweight 6061 aluminum, each bracket is precision laser-cut with slotted mounting holes for easy alignment. Edges are tumbled smooth, the Spears Racing logo is laser-engraved, and the piece receives a durable suede/satin black anodized finish. Stainless steel hardware is included for corrosion resistance—ideal for wet-weather racing.
Installation
The new mounting point sits where the charcoal canister is located on California models. Remove the canister and the bracket fits directly.
Non-California bikes have a blank hole in the frame at the same spot. Slightly enlarge the hole with a round file (typically a light pass is enough), then install the optional Jam Nut using the Spears Racing installation tool. Thread a 6 mm × 1.0 bolt through the tool into the jam nut and tighten just until snug—do not over-tighten. Once the jam nut is secure, mount the bracket and reroute the wiring harness to the new location.
With bodywork removed, most riders complete the job in about 10 minutes.
Kit Includes

Stainless steel mounting hardware is included with every kit.
Important for Non-California Models
Select “Add Tool” at checkout. The tool and Jam Nut are required to install the relocator in the blank frame hole.

Looks like a factory race piece. Thanks for saving me a few more zip ties.
